Typography
Our typography system is built around clarity, readability, and accessibility. It is structured, expressive, and adaptable across different languages, formats, and character sets
EMCD primarily uses Roobert Pro across all brand materials, with Inter available as a free alternative. The typography principles outlined below apply equally to both typefaces
Our font
Roobert Pro is a modern neo-grotesk sans-serif that combines a technological feel with soft geometric forms
Designed for versatility, it performs consistently across headlines, body copy, and interface elements while maintaining strong readability at every scale

Layout
At EMCD, layout provides the structural foundation behind every composition. A modular grid system organizes content, defines relationships between elements, and creates consistency across all brand touchpoints
This approach ensures clarity, balance, and visual order across both digital and print formats

Text rules
Strong typography is shaped by small details. Consistent text treatment improves readability, strengthens hierarchy, and reinforces the EMCD visual identity

Line height should scale proportionally with text size to maintain readability and visual hierarchy. Headlines use tighter spacing for stronger impact, while body text remains more open for comfortable reading
Recommended range: 90–120% of the font size

Letter spacing influences both readability and tone. Large headlines typically benefit from tighter tracking for a more confident visual presence, while smaller text may require slightly more spacing for clarity
Recommended range: –3% to 0% for large text sizes. Avoid excessive spacing to maintain visual cohesion

Roobert Pro is carefully kerned by default, and manual adjustments are rarely necessary. Additional refinement should only be applied in large display typography or custom compositions where precision is required

Clear hierarchy helps organize information through contrast in size, weight, and spacing. Headlines create emphasis, subheadings provide structure, and body text delivers supporting detail
Consistent hierarchy improves both readability and overall visual flow
Alignment
Roobert Sans is one of the most recognizable elements of the EMCD identity and should feel expressive while remaining clear and functional
Headline alignment can vary depending on the composition, provided readability and visual balance are always maintained

Used for most text blocks and long headlines

Used for accent headlines and expressive compositions
