EMCD photography is authentic, confident, and human. It captures real moments with clarity and emotional presence, creating visuals that feel globally relevant and culturally natural

Our imagery should feel lived-in rather than staged — grounded in genuine people, environments, and stories presented with honesty and respect

Approach

At EMCD, photography is treated as part of the message itself, not simply a supporting visual. It shapes atmosphere, reinforces meaning, and strengthens communication

Every image should align closely with the content it accompanies, helping amplify the idea with greater clarity, emotion, and impact

Features

We use professional color photography that feels dynamic, expressive, and optimistic, often with a strong narrative context

Images should feature:

  • Natural yet confident compositions
  • Thoughtful use of light and shadow
  • Accurate and balanced color rendering
  • Contemporary subjects, environments, and styling
  • A modern and globally relevant visual tone

All people, objects, and environments represented should feel current, authentic, and culturally relevant

Usage

There are no rigid rules for when photography must or must not be used within the EMCD brand system. These principles are intended to guide creative decisions when additional direction is needed

Strengthening brand connection

Use photography to create emotional connection and help audiences see themselves reflected in the EMCD brand, particularly across advertising and campaign materials

Telling stories

Use photography to showcase the people, companies, and communities interacting with EMCD around the world, especially across editorial and blog content

Expanding globally

Use photography to communicate global movement, connectivity, and the flow of value across markets, industries, and regions

Contrast

The E symbol and logo should always appear in official brand colors when placed over photography. Ensure there is enough contrast to maintain strong visibility and instant recognition

The background color treatment also affects the logo’s legibility. In this case, the glare on the surface visually washes out the logo

Strategic cropping can help create cleaner areas that improve logo clarity and balance

Avoid placing logos over busy or inconsistent backgrounds that compete with the brand mark
